Grekiska ordet 3700 OPTANOMAI

Heb 12:14 Sträva efter frid med alla och efter helgelse. Ty utan helgelse kommer ingen att se (3700 Optanomai) Herren.

Precis som i Joh 1:14 så är även ordet att SE inte vanliga ordet för att titta (Blepto) utan Gk 3700 Optanomai = Spiro Zodhiates/Att verkligen få förstå vad du ser.

Det betyder rätt och slätt att med öppna ögon skåda någonting som är fashinerande. Inget kan väl vara mer fashinerande än att få skåda Herrens ansikte

Om vi inte ser ljuset som strålar fram i Kristi ansikte så har vi ett täckelse för hjärtat säger Paulus. Så helgelse pekar mot överlåtelse och lydnad. Om vi gör det så kommer vi att få Andligt ljus.

Mat 5:8 Saliga är de renhjärtade, de skall se (3700 Optanomai) Gud.

(III) With the meaning to see take place, witness (Luk_17:22, "to see one of the days"). Fut. pass. ophthḗsomai, as causative (Act_26:16, "a witness both of these things which thou hast seen and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee").


(IV) In the fut., sú ópsei or in the pl. humeís ópsesthe, see thou to it, look ye to it, a milder form for the imper. (Mat_27:4, Mat_27:24; Act_18:15).
(V) To experience, attain to, enjoy (Joh_3:36, "shall not see life" or enjoy life; Sept.: Psa_48:20. In a wider sense, to see God, to be admitted to His presence, enjoy His fellowship and special favor, the figure being drawn from the customs of oriental courts (Mat_5:8; Heb_12:14; Rev_22:4).
